Koprivica: Berlin process provides incentive system for strengthening rule of law

Podgorica, (MINA) - The Berlin process, to which Montenegro is strongly committed, provides a framework and incentive system for strengthening the rule of law, Deputy Prime Minister Momo Koprivica said.

According to the press release from his office, Koprivica participated in a meeting within the Berlin process, titled “Anti-Corruption and Good Governance in the Western Balkans: Advancing the Path to Integration”, held in Sarajevo.

He stated that Montenegro, as the EU membership candidate that has made most progress in the integration process, has so far closed seven chapters, and by the end of the year is expected to close at least five more, and to meet all requirements by the end of next year.

According to Koprivica, Montenegro serves as a good example in the Western Balkans, demonstrating transformation of the legal system in line with the EU acquis.

Koprivica said that regional cooperation must not remain declarative, but must be productive, and that its most important product is an environment in which responsibility and integrity are shared values.
