Kopacz: I will strongly advocate for Montenegro to be next EU member

Podgorica, (MINA) – Vice-President of European Parliament (EP) Ewa Kopacz said that she will strongly advocate for Montenegro to be the next EU member state.

Montenegrin Deputy Parliament Speaker Zdenka Popovic met on Sunday with Kopacz, who is visiting Montenegro at her invitation to participate in the prestigious Women Leaders Summit (WPL Summit 2025).

According to the press release from Popovic’s office, she emphasized that Montenegro is diligently working to meet all requirements to join the EU by 2028.

Kopacz said that, when it comes to women’s representation and the issue of gender quotas, Montenegro is ahead of the EP in many aspects.

“Montenegro has an ambassador in me who will strongly advocate for Montenegro to be the next EU member”, said Kopacz.
