Podgorica, (MINA) – Chair of the special panel of judges at the Podgorica High Court Veljko Radovanovic rejected the bail offer submitted by defense attorneys of former Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnic.

This was confirmed to Vijesti daily by Ivana Vukmirovic, Podgorica High Court public relations advisor.

Vukmirovic added that, following a defense appeal, the case has been forwarded to the Court of Appeal for further proceedings.

Vijesti has unofficially learned that real estate was offered as collateral.

The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) suspects Katnic of being part of a criminal organization allegedly formed by former senior police officer Zoran Lazovic. Special prosecutor Sasa Cadjenovic is also suspected of being a member of the group.

Katnic and Lazovic were arrested on April 14, 2024, after which they were remanded in custody.
