Graffiti glorifying genocide written on BiH Embassy in Podgorica

Graffiti glorifying genocide written on BiH Embassy in Podgorica

Podgorica, (MINA) - Graffiti glorifying genocide and celebrating war criminal Ratko Mladic was written on the premises of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in Podgorica, the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) announced, strongly condemning this act of vandalism.

The MFA stated that this heinous and unacceptable act represents a direct attack not only on the diplomatic representation of a friendly country, but also on fundamental civilizational values, the remembrance culture and the dignity of victims of the gravest crimes committed on European soil since the Second World War.

“Montenegro unequivocally condemns any attempt to deny or relativize the genocide in Srebrenica, as well as to glorify war crimes and their perpetrators”, the Ministry said.

Such actions, according to them, contradict the policy of good neighborly relations and Montenegro’s determination to contribute to regional reconciliation, stability and lasting peace.

The MFA expressed expectation that the competent authorities would urgently identify and prosecute the perpetrators and to take all necessary measures to protect diplomatic and consular missions in line with Montenegro’s international obligations.
