Podgorica, (MINA) - The influence of foreign factors and various actors who exploit crisis and sensitive socio-political situations to generate internal instability is becoming increasingly pronounced in the contemporary political and security context of Montenegro, according to the analysis of the Digital Forensic Center (DFC).
The analysis titled “Instruments of Foreign Interference” states that these activities are part of a broader strategy aimed at undermining the institutional capacity of the state and present it as politically and security unprepared for membership in the European Union (EU).
The DFC said that this is why foreign actors use every opportunity to initiate crises and create destabilization.
“At the same time, by analyzing the reactions of competent institutions, their passivity or indecision, they test the system’s resilience and plan more intensive and sophisticated forms of hybrid action aimed at undermining long-term security and political stability of the country”, the analysis reads.
It is stated that foreign actors use extraordinary circumstances not only to deepen crises, but to check the institutional response of the state.
The DFC said that the key instruments of foreign influence are reflected in the spread of disinformation through political and media channels and the (mis)use of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC).
