Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Users of electronic communications services in Montenegro can now switch providers more easily and choose the one whose services, prices, and packages better suit their needs.
The Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP) stated in a press release that most users are already familiar with the option of keeping their phone number when changing mobile or landline telephone providers.
“However, the new provider-switching service goes a step further, as it enables an easier change of provider not only for telephone services, but also for internet, television, and other electronic communications services,” the press release reads.
Users can still keep their existing telephone number, and with the new provider they may transfer all services or only selected ones, depending on their needs.
This means users no longer have to coordinate the termination of their contract with their current provider and the activation of services with the new provider on their own. It is sufficient to submit a single request to the new provider, which then takes over coordination of the entire process.
“Until the services with the new provider are activated, the user continues to use the services of the existing provider. After the switch is successfully completed, the contractual relationship with the previous provider is automatically terminated, without the need for any additional action by the user,” the press release reads.
The procedure is organized so that any interruption in service cannot last longer than one working day, ensuring continuity of service and additional security for users when switching to a new provider.
