Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – President of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) Nina Drakic said that, despite all challenges, tourism remains one of the strongest pillars of economic development, a mirror of Montenegrin identity, and the most powerful driver of investment.
Speaking at the two-day conference, organized by PKCG under the slogan “New Days of Better Tourism”, she reflected on tourism results and emphasized that the figures serve as a reminder that long-term success requires wise planning and responsible management.
“We must not forget that tourism, despite all challenges, remains one of the strongest pillars of our economic development. With a significant share in gross domestic product (GDP) and thousands of jobs it creates, tourism is more than an economic activity – it is a mirror of our identity, our window to the world, and the strongest driver of investment,” Drakic said.
According to her, the goal is not merely to extend the tourist season.
“It is far more ambitious than that – to position Montenegro as a year-round, sustainable, competitive, and recognizable tourist destination, a country that delights its guests and makes its citizens proud,” Drakic stated.
PKCG stated in a press release said that government officials, experts, and tourism professionals from Montenegro, Albania, Croatia, Serbia, and Spain addressed topics such as destination management, air connectivity, tax policy, infrastructure, beach valorization, and premium tourism, with the aim of paving the way toward the kind of tourism Montenegro aspires to and deserves.
