Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue Naida Nisic said that it is the responsibility of institutions to create conditions for quality jobs, higher wages, and a safer working environment.
Speaking at the May Day Trade Union Academy, organized by the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro ahead of International Workers’ Day, she highlighted the importance of social dialogue and protecting the dignity of work.
Nisic noted that Labour Day symbolizes the struggle for a fairer society, but also the obligation of all stakeholders to jointly build an environment in which work is valued and employees’ rights are continuously improved.
According to a press release from the Ministry, she stated that work is not only a source of income, but also the foundation of personal dignity, family security, and state stability.
Nisic recalled key reforms implemented by the Ministry in the previous period, including improvements to the legislative framework through amendments to the Labour Law and the Law on Occupational Safety and Health, as well as measures aimed at better work-life balance, more flexible forms of work, and the principle of equal pay.
