Customs Administration sustains revenue growth in August

“The revenue plan for this period has been exceeded by €21.64 million or 2.4 percent,” the customs authority stated in a press release.
According to the release, the Administration’s priority is to ensure efficient revenue collection, thereby strengthening overall budget income through strong fiscal policy measures. This approach has maintained the positive trend in customs revenue since the beginning of the year.
In terms of the revenue structure, growth was recorded across all categories.
Gross revenues from value-added tax (VAT) on imports amounted to €606.43 million, which is €41.93 million or 7.43 percent more than in the same period last year.
“Revenues based on excise duties amounted to €271.93 million, which is €25.18 million, or 10.21 percent more than in the corresponding period,” the press release states.
The revenue collected from tariffs amounted to €46.33 million, which is an increase of €6.87 million or 17.28 percent.
The coffee tax revenues amounted to €1.96 million, while other revenues totaled €180,500.
Total customs revenues collected in August amounted to €137.98 million, which is €8.41 million or 6.49 percent more compared to the same period last year and €793,400 more than planned.
