Closer cooperation with Turkiye discussed 

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Milun Zogovic said that Montenegro is ready to establish closer cooperation with Turkey in fields of mutual interest, such as the transport and energy sectors.

 

He met with the Turkish Ambassador to Montenegro Barıs Kalkavan, on the occasion of the ambassador’s farewell visit. At the meeting, Zogovic and Kalkavan discussed different topics concerning Montenegro–Turkiye relations and highlighted the significant achievements made during Kalkavan’s term.

 

“The meeting also covered future priorities, including the development of transport and municipal infrastructure, the energy transition, increased investment in renewable energy sources, as well as stronger support for the development of northern and underdeveloped regions of Montenegro,” the Deputy Prime Minister's Office stated in a press release.

 

The two officials agreed that Montenegro and Turkey are friendly countries that maintain relations based on mutual respect and recognition. 

 

Zogovic thanked Kalkavan for his contribution to strengthening the partnership between the two countries and expressed Montenegro’s readiness to continue and further develop cooperation with Turkiye in areas of mutual interest.
