Podgorica, (MINA) – The European Commission (EC) has confirmed that Chapters 11 and 13 will be provisionally closed in December, marking an important step forward in Montenegro’s European integration process, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management announced. 

According to the press release, the Subcommittee on Negotiating Chapters 11, 12 and 13 met in Brussels on Friday.

“During the meeting, significant progress was noted, and it was emphasized that major part of work was completed in all the discussed chapters”, the press release says.

The meeting in particular emphasized that fourteen laws have been harmonized and adopted in the previous period, which further improved the alignment of national legislation with the EU acquis.

“The EC has confirmed that Chapters 11 and 13 will be provisionally closed in December this year, which represents an important step forward in Montenegro’s EU integration process and a confirmation of commitment to implementing reforms in the fields of agriculture and fisheries”, the press release said.
