CBCG committed to strengthening internal audit

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – A the opening an international seminar on empowering internal auditors, Governor of the Central Bank (CBCG) Irena Radovic expressed the Bank’s commitment to enhancing the role of internal audit and promoting best practices in the field.

“Internal audit is a key factor in risk management, strategic decision-making, and supporting the sustainable development of organizations,” Radovic said during the opening of the seminar titled “From Persuasion to Influence: Empowering Internal Auditors as Reliable and Strategic Advisors”, organized by CBCG in partnership with the Central Bank of the Netherlands (DNB).

 

According to a press release from the CBCG, the seminar gathers together internal auditors and members of the internal audit committee from the central banks of the member countries of the Belgian-Dutch constituency of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as from other partner central banks. 

 

The seminar focuses on topics of critical importance for modern internal auditing, including data usage and analysis, risk identification and monitoring, application of advanced artificial intelligence tools, and issues of ethics and integrity.

 

“The seminar aims to strengthen the role of internal auditor as a trusted and strategic advisor in central banks, contributing to improved corporate governance, enhanced management, and informed strategic decision-making,” the press release reads.

 

The CBCG stated that that the seminar, which gathered representatives of central banks from 18 countries, provides a unique platform for sharing experiences, discussing challenges and innovations in internal audit, and connecting experts across jurisdictions to strengthen the resilience and efficiency of central banks.
