Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro can count on the holding of intergovernmental conferences to the necessary extent, said the State Secretary for European Affairs and Defense of Ireland Thomas Byrne in a conversation with the Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorcevic.

Gorcevic wrote on the X social network that in a phone conversation with Byrne she presented a plan for fulfilling the remaining obligations in the negotiation process, with the aim of closing all chapters by the end of the year.

“Ahead of Ireland’s presidency of the EU in the second half of the year, Byrne welcomed Montenegro’s determination and emphasized that we can count on the holding intergovernmental conferences to the necessary extent”, said Gorcevic. 

She added that Byrne emphasized that Ireland would provide full expert support.
