Podgorica, (MINA) – Through the GSB system, Montenegro is for the first time connecting all local governments in a single digital network, said Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj, adding that this is a historic step towards modern administration in the country.
According to the press release from the Ministry of Public Administration (MJU), Dukaj said this at the official closing of the “Digital Transformation of Local Self-Government” project.
He emphasized that the results of that project represent the foundation for a new phase of public administration development and that the project itself represents one of the most important steps towards the modernization of public administration and the improvement of digital services for citizens and the economy in Montenegro.
UN Resident Coordinator in Montenegro Carolin Tissot said that by bringing together the expertise of different UN organizations, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration and municipalities, they helped improve digital transformation so that public services would be more responsive to the needs of citizens.
Director of the UNOPS Southeast Europe office, Michela Telatin, assessed that the project of digital represents an example of how sustainable and essential digital transformation becomes possible when institutions work together around a shared vision.
Head of the ITU Office for Europe, Jaroslav Ponder, pointed out that the project showed the real value of partnership in advancing digital transformation at the local level.
The MJU said that through the project, local governments were provided with technical equipment for access to the GSB system, which for the first time connects all municipalities in Montenegro into a single digital communication system.
