Albanian parties unite into Albanian Forum

Podgorica, (MINA) – Representatives of the Albanian Alternative, the Democratic Alliance of Albanians and the Albanian National Union signed on Saturday the Agreement on the unification of Albanian political entities in Montenegro under a single political entity called the Albanian Forum.
According to the press release from the Albanian Forum, this act formalizes the political unity of Albanians in Montenegro.
“With the aim of further strengthening political representation, protecting national interests, preserving and improving national identity, language and culture, and contributing more to the democratic and economic development of society, rule of law, European integration and prosperity of all citizens”, the press release added.
It is stated that the Albanian Forum represents the largest Albanian political entity in the modern history of parliamentarism in Montenegro.
“Unification is the result of a common vision and confirmation that political unity brings concrete results, as confirmed by the results achieved in all municipalities where Albanians live, the strengthening of parliamentary representation and greater participation of Albanians in the national institutions”, said the Albanian Forum.
The press release adds that, in accordance with the Unification Agreement, Nik Gjeloshaj has been appointed as leader of the Albanian Forum until the Inaugural Congress, tasked to lead the process of organizational and political consolidation into a single entity.
