Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Public Works Majda Adzovic said the Government will not back down from its demand that the Jaz–Tivat road section be completed by May next year, despite ongoing challenges and previous delays.

Speaking at the session titled “A Conversation with the Minister” held during the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) conference “New Days of Better Tourism”, Adzovic discussed infrastructure investments shaping the future growth of the tourism sector.

According to a press release from the PKCG, Adzovic said that this is an extremely demanding road project, crucial not only for tourism and the airport, but also for connecting the entire country. 

She noted that problems in implementation are often related to complex property and legal relations and the expropriation process.

“It is true that there have been many delays, but the Government will not abandon its demand that this road be completed by May,” Adzovic said.

She added that there is direct and continuous communication with contractors, who are fully familiar with conditions on the ground and with Government's expectations. According to her, completing the works before the start of the summer tourist season is a realistic goal, and the Government will insist on penalties if necessary.
