WB3C to become first international organization headquartered in Montenegro

 

Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro is becoming a center of knowledge that will help shape the future of the digital space in the Western Balkans, said Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj on the occasion of signing of the Agreement on the Western Balkans Cyber ​​Capacities Center (WB3C) Headquarters in Podgorica.

WB3C is a regional initiative founded by France, Slovenia and Montenegro with the aim of strengthening cyber resilience in the Western Balkans.

Dukaj, as announced by the Ministry of Public Administration (MJU), pointed out that today’s signing of the Agreement on the Center’s Headquarters is of particular importance for Montenegro’s international position and the development of the region’s cyber capacities.

“With this step, Montenegro confirms its ambition to be a leader and a regional center of knowledge in the field of cyber security, because strong digital protection means a safer country, a more stable economy and greater confidence of citizens in the digital future”, said Dukaj.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimovic pointed out that the signing of the Agreement on the WB3C Headquarters represents an important moment for Montenegro and the region and a significant step towards further strengthening of regional and international cooperation in addressing modern security challenges in the digital space.

According to him, the fact that the Center’s headquarters will be in Podgorica is particularly pleasing.

Ibrahimovic said that this further confirms the role of Montenegro as a reliable NATO ally and the most advanced EU candidate ion, but also as a credible partner in strengthening regional cooperation and building a safer digital space.
