Podgorica, (MINA) - New Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro (VCG), Brigadier General Miodrag Vuksanovic, took office on Monday.

A ceremony was held in the Ministry of Defense, attended by the VCG commanding staff, which officially marked the beginning of Vuksanovic’s mandate, as announced by the Ministry.

Vuksanovic met with Defense Minister Dragan Krapovic, with whom he exchanged views on key security challenges, priorities of the defense sector and plans to improve the VCG capabilities.

Krapovic emphasized that Vuksanovic’s appointment represents an important turning point in the modernization and strengthening of the Montenegrin defense system.

He pointed out that human resources and fundamental institutional reform are priorities in the coming period, and that the goal is to create a modern, efficient and responsible army, based on the values ​​of honor, knowledge and responsibility.

Vuksanovic expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and said that his duty will be guided by a sense of responsibility towards every member of the VCG.
