Value of purchased and sold products reaches €11.5 million 

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The value of the products purchased and sold in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors by businesses and agricultural cooperatives employing two or more people was €11.5 million in the first quarter.

 

According to a press release from Monstat, the value of locally produced goods sold in this period was €5.5 million or 47.8 percent of the total value, while the goods purchased from the individual farmers were worth €6 million, which accounts for 52.2 percent of the total value.

 

The Statistical Office says that, compared with last year’s corresponding period, the value of the purchase and sale of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products from business entities and cooperatives with two or more employees recorded an increase of 28.2 percent in the first quarter, while the value of sales from the business entities’ own production rose by 49.9 percent.

 

There was a 13.1 percent increase in the value of purchases of agricultural products from individual producers in the same period.

 

In the overall structure of goods purchased and sold in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors by value, chicken eggs accounted for 34.1 percent, raw cow milk 23.9 percent, different categories of cattle 13.2 percent, other produce 11.2 percent, vegetable 8.9 percent, fresh fish 4.5 percent, fresh fruit 3 percent, fruit and grape products 0.7 percent, and fibre crops 0.5 percent.
