Up to 72-hour detention for suspects who assisted Medenica’s escape

Podgorica, (MINA) - The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Podgorica has ordered the detention of S.L. and N.M for up to 72 hours, on suspicion that they assisted convicted criminal Milos Medenica to escape.
“The ODT in Podgorica has ordered the detention of S.L. and N.M. for up to 72 hours, due to reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of enabling the escape of a person deprived of liberty”, the prosecution stated.
The Police Administration previously announced that it is suspected that S.L. and N.M. provided assistance and logistics to Medenica, to help him evade law enforcement authorities, after he violated the supervision measure and after the presiding judge ordered him detention on January 28 of this year.
Medenica was sentenced to ten years and two months in prison by the first-instance ruling by the Podgorica High Court in. An international warrant has been issued for him by NCB Interpol Podgorica.
