Untapped cooperation potential between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro highlighted

Podgorica, Mostar, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a business forum in Mostar that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), immediately after Serbia, is one of Montenegro’s most important foreign trade partners, and there is still significant untapped potential for stronger investments, joint projects, and the overall improvement of economic exchange.

The Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) stated in a press release that the Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro business forum titled “Economic Stability and Partnership” was held today, as part of the International Economy Fair in Mostar.

PKCG President Nina Drakic stated that total trade in goods between the two countries reached nearly €310 million last year, with strong growth of over 25 percent, clearly confirming the intensity and importance of our economic ties.

“The structure of trade shows strong interconnection between our economies, from energy and the metal industry to the food sector,” Drakic said.

She added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is also one of the most important tourism markets for Montenegro, with more than 200,000 tourists and over one million overnight stays annually.

According to her, investment growth is particularly encouraging, with more than €90 million invested from Bosnia and Herzegovina into Montenegro over the past five years.

“However, I am confident that the current level of cooperation does not fully reflect the real potential of our economies,” Drakic concluded.
