Tripkovic Markovic: Confirmation of strengthening Montenegro’s position in European tourism

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Hosting the General Assembly of the European Travel Commission (ETC) in Montenegro confirms the strengthening of the country’s position in European tourism, said ETC Vice President and Director of the National Tourism Organization (NTO), Ana Tripkovic Markovic.

She added that it is a great honour for Montenegro to host the ETC General Assembly in the year marking both the 20th anniversary of the restoration of independence and two decades of ETC membership.

“Holsting the General Assembly comes at a very important moment for several reasons. First of all, we are at the beginning of the main tourist season, both in Montenegro and across Europe, so the topics of sustainability, market trends, and challenges faced by the tourism sector were particularly relevant, especially in the context of global developments that directly affect tourism,” Tripkovic Markovic said in Kotor.

She added that they are especially pleased that elections for the president and vice president of the European Travel Commission were also held today, meaning that their first messages from these positions will be sent from Montenegro.

“Given that Montenegro is in the process of accession to the European Union, hosting such an important European event confirms that our country is a credible partner to Europe, but also a destination that has much to offer both tourists and international partners,” Tripkovic Markovic said.
