Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Director of the National Tourism Organization (NTO) Ana Tripkovic Markovic, artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing the way tourists plan their trips and gather information about destinations, which is why it is important for the tourism sector to follow modern technological trends in this field.
Speaking at a workshop for representatives of the tourism industry titled “AI in Tourism – from Understanding to Practical Application”, organized by the NTO, she said they are aware that artificial intelligence is changing the way people plan and organize travel.
“More and more people are searching for information about destinations through AI tools, so tourist destinations must keep pace with modern trends in order to stay aligned with what consumers actually want,” Tripkovic Markovic said.
She added that the NTO has included such workshops as one of the key elements in its plans and programmes, along with further orientation towards these trends, which should help the tourism industry better understand the potential of artificial intelligence, both in improving business operations and in presenting destinations more effectively.
The workshop was led by Joshua Ryan-Saha, Director of Tourism, Travel and Festivals at the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh and an internationally recognized expert in the application of artificial intelligence and new technologies in tourism.
