Podgorica, (Montena-business)- The Minister of Culture in Montenegrin Government, Branimir Popovic refused to talk to Montena-business’ journalist before a question was asked, with explanation that he doesn’t give comments. Popovic answered the question “why” with: “I don’t give comments”. The Minister of Culture should have replied the question related to if he was satisfied with the amount of money appointed to the Ministry, in the Budget proposal for next year. It is not strange to deny the personal comments at this and similar questions, but it is strange, and maybe illegal that the Minister refused to give any answer, before he heard the question. These accidents give us right to think that maybe the Minister of Culture is not informed about the Law on Public Media, which obliges every state official to give information from his sphere of authority to the journalists, with exception of state secret’s matters. It is possible that for the Minister, the next year’s budget for Culture is some kind of ‘state secret’ that mustn’t be revealed, and therefore cancelled the telephone conversation in order not to comment it.
