Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Tax Administration collected a total of €220 million in gross tax revenues during the first two months of this year.

 Compared to the same period last year, they decreased by €2.5 million

“This confirmed a stable and god beginning of the fiscal year, bearing in mind that during the same period last year the Law on the Write-off of Interest on Due Tax Liabilities was in force, whose effect amounted to €21 million, which significantly affected the level of revenue collected at that time,” the tax authority stated in a press release.

According to its representatives, the Tax Administration continues to carry out activities aimed at improving tax discipline, strengthening control mechanisms and combating the informal economy.

“In the coming period, focus will be placed on more efficient collection of tax liabilities, as well as on improving digital services that enable taxpayers to fulfil their tax obligations more efficiently,” the statement said.
