Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting of the Tourism and Hospitality Board of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) that Montenegro’s status as a safe, accessible and attractive destination for holidays and travel should be further reinforced through stronger promotional activities and a coordinated approach by institutions and the tourism sector.
At the meeting, held on Monday, it was noted that in the current global circumstances it is important to further highlight Montenegro as a safe and stable tourist destination.
Such an image represents a significant comparative advantage in the international market.
Chairman of the Board Ranko Jovovic said tourism in Montenegro continues to record growth in the number of arrivals, but that this growth is not accompanied by higher tourist spending or longer stays.
According to a press release from the PKCG, he also pointed to challenges such as a shortage of workforce, strong dependence on several key source markets and pronounced seasonality, as well as the need to strengthen hotel capacities, improve marketing and strategically plan tourism development.
