Stronger investment and trade ties offer significant cooperation potential

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic said that Montenegro and Kazakhstan have considerable potential to transform their existing friendship into a long-term partnership, particularly through stronger investment, trade, tourism, transport connectivity, energy cooperation, agriculture, and digital technologies.

As part of his official visit to Kazakhstan, Milatovic met in Astana with Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

The two officials agreed that the first official visit of a Montenegrin president to Kazakhstan marks an important milestone in bilateral relations and provides an opportunity to channel the friendly ties between the two countries, based on mutual respect and free of outstanding issues, toward more concrete economic, investment, and institutional cooperation.

“Montenegro and Kazakhstan have friendly relations. What is important now is to translate them into concrete projects, new investments, better connectivity, and cooperation that benefits the citizens and economies of both countries,” Milatovic said.

Particular emphasis was placed on the Montenegro–Kazakhstan Business Forum, which brought together representatives of institutions and business communities from both countries to establish direct contacts and identify new opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
