Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Finance Novica Vukovic and Hungarian Ambassador to Podgorica Peter Hetei agreed that relations between Montenegro, as the next prospective EU member, and Hungary are entering a new phase, which should be marked by more significant results and stronger economic ties.
As stated by the Ministry of Finance, Hetei expressed strong support from Hungary for Montenegro’s European path.
Vukovic thanked Hungary for its continuous partnership since the very beginning of the accession process, saying that it holds particular importance in the current, final phase of European integration.
He pointed to the significant presence of Hungarian companies in the Montenegrin market, especially large and successful investors, and expressed expectations of their further expansion, alongside growth in trade exchange and an increase in the number of Hungarian tourists visiting Montenegro.
“It was also noted that the establishment of a Wizz Air base in Podgorica marks a significant step forward in improving connectivity with European destinations, providing a strong boost to the development of tourism and business,” the press release concludes.
