Strong government commitment to implementing the Reform Agenda and efficient absorption of EU funds

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Finance said that the Government’s results confirm the commitment of Montenegro’s institutions to the successful implementation of the demanding reform process and the absorption of EU funds.

 

Progress in implementing the Reform Agenda for the 2024–2027 period was reviewed during a meeting attended by the ministries of finance and European affairs as part of the European Commission’s DG ENEST audit mission, within two days of meetings dedicated to the implementation of Montenegro’s Reform Agenda under the Reform and Growth Instrument for the Western Balkans.

 

According to a press release from the Ministry, particular focus was placed on the functioning of the management and control system, reporting on the implementation of reform steps, as well as mechanisms ensuring the transparent and responsible spending of European Union funds.

 

State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and deputy coordinator of the Reform Agenda, Milica Adzic, said that the results achieved so far confirm the commitment of Montenegro’s institutions to the successful implementation of this demanding reform process.

 

Director General of the Directorate for Coordination of EU Financial Assistance at the Ministry of European Affairs Bojan Vujovic said that the Reform Agenda is one of the most important instruments for accelerating the reform process and Montenegro’s economic convergence with the European Union.

 

The implementation of the Reform Agenda marks an important step towards Montenegro’s further European integration and economic strengthening.
