Strengthening regional employment cooperation between Montenegro and North Macedonia

Podgorica, Skopje, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Representatives of the Employment Office of Montenegro and the Employment Service Agency of North Macedonia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, further strengthening regional collaboration in the field of the labour market and employment policy.

 

The memorandum was signed by the directors of the Macedonian Agency and the Montenegrin Employment Office, Adnan Ejup and David Percobic, during an official visit by the Montenegrin delegation to their counterparts in Skopje.

 

“On that occasion, the shared commitment to the exchange of experiences, expertise, and best practices in developing and implementing active employment measures was highlighted, along with efforts to strengthen the capacities of both institutions in providing modern and efficient services to unemployed persons and employer,” the Employment Office said in a press release.

 

Percobic said that an important step had been made toward stronger regional networking of labour market institutions, deeper institutional cooperation, and the improvement of employment policies at the regional level, with the common goal of creating more efficient services, higher employment, and better support for citizens, especially young people.

 

During the working meetings, representatives of the two institutions discussed improving cooperation in the field of active employment policy, with a particular focus on the Youth Guarantee programme, digitalization of services, and strengthening institutional capacities.
