Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to its Executive Director Nemanja Lakovic, Pljevlja Coalmine continues to deliver concrete results in its business transformation process, confirming that a just energy transition can and must be a development opportunity rather than a threat to the local community and employees.

Speaking at the Adria Future Summit in Tivat, Lakovic said that, aware of the challenges posed by decarbonization and alignment with the European Union goals, the Coalmine has been intensively working over the past two years on preparing and implementing a Just Transition Plan through business transformation.

“This plan is not just a strategic document, but a set of concrete, clearly defined measures aimed at preserving jobs, ensuring social stability, and creating new sustainable sources of income,” Lakovic explained. 

Within a year of presenting the plan as part of its strategic transformation, significant results have been achieved, confirming that the Coalmine is actively and responsibly approaching the transition process while maintaining the country’s energy stability.
