Spajic: Montenegro’s reform efforts and alignment with EU commended

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro, with the support of its European partners, is reaffirming the EU enlargement policy, as one of the key instruments for strengthening the stability, unity and security of the whole of Europe, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said.

Spajic, who is leading Montenegrin delegation at the Montenegro-EU Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels, said that ahead of the conference, at which Montenegro is set to close another chapter, they met with the European Enlargement Commissioner, Marta Kos.

In a post on social networks, he stated that Montenegro’s efforts in speedy reforms and aligning public policies with EU standards were commended.

“The quality and pace of the negotiation process are the guarantor of achieving the “28by28” goal”, Spajic pointed out.

He said that they also met with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, to discuss Montenegro’s progress, which is unquestionably and in terms of values ​​fully aligned with European foreign policy.

“In the year of closing the negotiation chapters, Montenegro, with the support of European partners, reaffirms the EU enlargement policy, as one of the key instruments for strengthening the stability, unity and security of Europe as a whole”, Spajic said.
