Podgorica, (MINA) - The government and the parliamentary majority are fully committed to fulfilling all obligations under the European agenda, and key laws must be adopted by the end of July, to allow all negotiation chapters to be closed this year, it was stated at the meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajic and leaders of the parliamentary majority.
According to the press release from the Prime Minister’s office, the meeting was held as part of the consultations initiated by Spajic with representatives of all parliamentary parties, regarding the fulfillment of obligations under the European agenda.
Spajic pointed out that this ambitious but achievable goal requires stronger political will, continuous institutional coordination and full responsibility of all political actors.
“During the meeting, the focus was on defining the next steps in the demanding final phase of the negotiation process, with agreement that the so-called blue flag laws, for which the opinions of the European Commission have been received, are an absolute priority in the work of the parliament”, the press release says.
It added that the expectation has been expressed that most of the laws, which must be aligned with European regulations and adopted in order to close the negotiation chapters, can be adopted by the end of July, that is, by the end of the regular spring session of the parliament.
Spajic’s office stated that the importance of political dialogue in the parliament was particularly emphasized, noting that political stability is a prerequisite for the successful conclusion of negotiations.
It also announced that the Prime Ministers’ talks with the representatives of the opposition are planned for Wednesday.
