Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said the business sector will benefit from a favourable business environment in the coming years, as the Government will seek to keep fixed costs stable or reduce them.
Speaking at the event “Openly with the Prime Minister”, hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), Spajic said that fixed costs are the “silent killers” of the economy and the main drivers of entrepreneurial risk in Montenegro.
“My mission is to reduce those killers of entrepreneurship to a minimum or eliminate them wherever possible,” Spajic said in a conversation with President of the AmCham Board of Governors Sanja Calasan.
Asked which changes the businesses would feel the most in the next two years through the EU alignment process, Spajic said that the process is a demanding legislative undertaking for all participants – both companies and consumers.
“There is definitely a regulatory cost, which is the cost of aligning with all those practices. Many companies will certainly have to quickly align with European business standards, as there will be new tax levies and obligations,” Spajic added.
