Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, the beginning of construction of the Velje Brdo complex marks the merging of vision with reality and with the actual needs of citizens.
He officially marked the beginning of construction today with his associates, stating that the vision of decision-makers is only valid if it aligns with the real and actual needs of citizens.
“More than 15,000 households have shown that they believe in this project. Today we can say that this vision is merging with reality and that the Velje Brdo project has been launched. Many doubted it, but I think this is just one step in a series of those that will follow,” Spajic told reporters.
He added that there has been a delay of a few months, but that the most important thing is that the project has started.
Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property Slaven Radunovic said that this is a very important day for Montenegro.
“We’re about to begin the largest urban development project in Montenegro’s history. Today is a day to celebrate — even for our early critics,” Radunovic said.
Mayor of the Capital City Sasa Mujovic said that the project is aimed at retaining the best and most promising young people in Podgorica and Montenegro.
“Through this project, we also want to help our fellow citizens with insufficient income to solve their housing needs under more accessible market conditions,” Mujovic said.
Minister of Public Works Majda Adzovic stated that it is now clear to all citizens that the phase of announcements is over and that the Velje Brdo project, one of the largest state projects in Montenegro’s recent history, has officially begun.
She assessed that, unlike other major government projects, this one has the potential to address one of Montenegro’s most pressing issues.
