Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro has made significant progress on its European path and is close to achieving its goal, but the most difficult part of the job still lies ahead, said EU Ambassador in Podgorica Johann Sattler, adding that determination and unity are crucial.

Sattler told Radio Television of Montenegro, on the occasion of Europe Day, that Montenegro is in the final phase of its European journey.

He recalled that Europe Day reminds of how one simple idea changed the continent more than 70 years ago and that Europe is stronger together than divided. 

Sattler said that this day is special for Montenegro, adding that the country is not going to Europe, but returning home.

He said that Montenegro’s progress is real and that the EU membership is now within reach.

Sattler stressed that the most difficult part of the process is ahead, as it requires unity, determination and focus on what is really important.
