Review of applications for support to former timber and forestry industry workers completed

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has completed the administrative review of all submitted applications for financial support for former employees of the wood-processing and forestry industry, with a total of 7,330 applications examined.

 

“The structure of submitted applications shows that municipalities from northern Montenegro, including Niksic, account for 83.2 percent of the total number of applications, confirming that the largest number of former employees covered by this process come from this region,” the Ministry stated in a press release.

 

The largest number of applications was submitted by former workers of the Berane Pulp and Paper Factory, followed by INIS “Marko Radovic” Podgorica, Gornji Ibar Rozaje, DP Javorak Niksic, as well as the “Jakić” Corporation Pljevlja and other companies from the wood-processing and forestry sector. 

 

The Ministry conducted the procedure responsibly and in accordance with applicable regulations, and citizens, according to the Ministry, can have full confidence in its legality and transparency.

 

“In the coming period, applicants may be invited to supplement their documentation within the legally prescribed deadline, which will create the conditions for moving to the next phase of implementation and the adoption of decisions. The schedule for disbursement of funds is defined by law,” the press release reads.
