Reform Agenda provides additional impetus for implementing substantive reforms

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to State Secretary at the Ministry of European Affairs Bojana Boskovic, the Reform Agenda provides an additional incentive for implementing substantive reforms that directly contribute to improving governance, strengthening institutions and enhancing the quality of life of citizens.

At the second meeting of the Reform Instrument Monitoring Committee, she said that the Government is committed to fulfilling all defined reform steps and meeting all set indicators.

“Our goal is clear: a successful and consistent implementation of the Reform Agenda, with the possibility of creating, based on the results achieved this year, the preconditions for expanding the scope of reforms and the amount of funds that Montenegro can absorb,” Boskovic said.

According to a press release from the Ministry, she recalled that Montenegro has so far submitted three semi-annual and two annual reports on the implementation of the Reform Agenda.

The Ministry said that the Deputy Head of Unit for Montenegro at DG ENEST, Heinke Veit, welcomed Montenegro’s continuous efforts in implementing the Reform Agenda.

She said that expectations for Montenegro, as a leader in the EU accession process, are high.

In the coming period Montenegro is expected to continue fulfilling the necessary steps in order to access available funds and prepare for the challenges that EU membership brings.

The press release notes that the model of cooperation between the Ministry, the EU Delegation and the European Commission is an example for other beneficiary countries receiving support through the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
