Podgorica, (MINA) - The restoration of Montenegrin independence is one of the most important events for Bosniaks in Montenegro, said president of the Executive Board of the Bosniak Council (BC) Mirsad Rastoder.

BC organized on Sunday in Bijelo Polje the academy “Bosniaks to Their Montenegro”, to mark the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro’s independence, the Day of Bosniak Culture and presentation of the awards to those who contributed to preserving Bosniak cultural identity.

Rastoder said that Bosniaks made a major contribution to the restoration of Montenegro’s statehood and that they are proud of that role.

President of BC in Montenegro, Suljo Mustafic, said that throughout history, Bosniaks have been on the right side of history, cherishing the values ​​of unity, merhamet and anti-fascism.

He also pointed out that Bosniaks expect greater representation of their language, culture and identity in education, media and public life.
