Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Reconstruction works on the Tivat–Jaz road must be completed before the beginning of the summer tourist season, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Coordinator of the Ministry of Transport, Filip Radulovic, said after visiting the site and speaking with the contractor.
“There are no more excuses. The pace of work must be stepped up, and starting today I will require a daily report on the progress made. We are currently paving the fifth section, and we will have six out of nine sections under asphalt. That means ten of the total 16 kilometres will be paved,” Radulovic said.
He stressed that this project is currently a priority and called on the contractors to meet the agreed deadline.
“We must enter the summer tourist season with all four lanes completed in order to be infrastructurally prepared to welcome tourists and to enable easier daily life for the local population,” Radulovic said.
He added that once completed, the modern roadway will ease congestion on the busiest road section in Montenegro.
