Police working to identify person who threatened DPS MP Abdic

 

Podgorica, (MINA) - Police officers, in cooperation with the competent prosecutor’s office, are working to identify the individual who threatened Democratic Party of Socialists MP Nermin Abdic at his workplace at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), the Police Administration announced.

The police stated that Abdic filed a report with the Podgorica Security Department on Thursday evening, in which he stated that, at his workplace at the KCCG he was threatened by a person known to him as D.M. from Niksic, who was accompanied by another yet unidentified person, which caused him to fears for his safety.

According to the press release, the police officers immediately informed the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica and undertook activities to identify and locate the perpetrator.

Earlier on Thursday, leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists Danijel Zivkovic said that Abdic was threatened at his workplace because he had spoken in the Parliament about potential corruption in the healthcare system.

“As of today, for everything that happens to any of us, or members of our families, we will hold responsible those who target us in that way”, said Zivkovic.

Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic said that the Parliament and its members should call on the institutions to do their job and to establish the facts.

According to him, everything that is happening in Montenegro, including the radicalization of the situation, is not leading anywhere.
