Podgorica, (MINA) - Podgorica police have filed criminal charges against police officers M.Dj. (31) and B.B. (44), suspected of committing the criminal offense of abuse of office.

According to the press release by the Police Administration, the criminal investigation points to the suspicion that M.Dj. and B.B, in separate cases, transmitted official data to persons of operational interest from Podgorica over a certain period.

“Through which they could potentially jeopardize the successful implementation of police measures and actions in certain cases, which has had a negative impact on the reputation of the Police Administration, damaged by their illegal actions”, the press release said.

It is stated that M.Dj. is also suspected of using his official position to influence the non-sanctioning of persons close to him and thus enabled them to obtain illegal financial gain.

“In addition to the filed criminal charges, the Police Administration will initiate internal proceedings against M.Dj. and B.B. in accordance with the law”, the press release added.
