Podgorica, (MINA) – Officers of the Podgorica Security Department, in coordination with the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, have resolved another vehicle arson attack, the Police Administration announced, adding that they are undertaking activities to locate and arrest the suspect.

The police said that the fire on the vehicle, a Mercedes jeep, was set on the night between June 18 and 19.

“Intensive police and prosecutorial activities have led to the identification of the individual suspected of committing the criminal act, and coordinated and extensive activities are being underway to locate and arrest the suspect”, the press release says.

The press release adds that this person is also suspected of being the direct perpetrator of the arson attack on the “VW Golf VIII” vehicle, which took place on June 17, and in connection with which the police have already arrested D.S. (25).

According to the police, intensive activities are underway to resolve another case of arson attack committed in the previous days, recalling that four arsons and one activation of an explosive device have been resolved recently and five persons prosecuted over the past 48 hours.

The police said that it is suspected that those five criminal offences were committed by individuals close to an organized criminal group.
