Pierce: UK confident in Montenegro’s reform path

Podgorica, (MINA) – The United Kingdom (UK) looks with confidence at the reform path of Montenegro, said the British Special Envoy to the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce.
According to the press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP), Minister Ervin Ibrahimovic met with Pierce, who congratulated Montenegro the 20th anniversary of the restoration of its independence, stressing this jubilee as a turning point that reflects the country’s progress.
She emphasized the continued development of the UK’s partnership with Montenegro.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pierce added that the UK looks with confidence on Montenegro’s reform path and emphasized that it will continue to cooperate and provide support to Montenegro on its European path.
Ibrahimovic said that Pierce’s attendance at the celebration of the 20th anniversary of restoration of the independence is an additional confirmation of the strong partnership and alliance between the two countries.
He emphasized the special significance of the jubilee for Montenegro, stressing that the country today represents an important factor of stability in the Western Balkans.
Ibrahimovic thanked the UK for its continuous support, both during the process of NATO accession and its European agenda.
He assessed that the role and presence of the UK is of special importance not only for Montenegro, but also for the stability and prosperity of the entire region.
