Podgorica, (MINA) – Statements by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos during her visit to Montenegro represent another objective confirmation of the performance of the Government and the ruling majority, said the Europe Now Movement (PES).

The party stated that Kos’s visit, which followed two successful intergovernmental conferences in the first quarter, was an opportunity for the Montenegrin public to once again hear messages of confidence in Montenegro’s EU membership by 2028.

“The fact that Montenegro has closed 14 chapters, eleven of them during the mandate of the current Government, is a clear conclusion that the scale of progress is significant and increasingly visible. This is further confirmed by Commissioner Kos who said that, although we have been negotiating since 2012, real progress has been achieved over the past three years, which is an objective confirmation of the performance of the 44th Government and the ruling majority”, the press release says.

PES said that they were particularly pleased that in all meetings with state officials from the government and the opposition, Kos conveyed messages of optimism and a firm position that by closing all chapters, based on merit, will lead to full membership.
