Podgorica, (MINA) – The Europe Now Movement (PES) has officially become a member of the European People’s Party (EPP), Europe’s largest and most influential political family, the party announced.
PES stressed that the EPP brings together more than 80 parties from over 40 European countries.
According to the press release, the decision to admit the PES was made unanimously at the session of the EPP Political Assembly in Vienna.
“Thus, the strongest parliamentary party in Montenegro has become part of a group that has been the leading political force in the European Parliament for almost three decades and from which President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, as well as almost half of the prime ministers of the EU member states some”, the press release said.
PES emphasized that its admission to EPP represents a great recognition for the party, but also a formal confirmation that its policies of reforms, European integration and strengthening of institutions are recognized and supported by the key political addresses in Europe.
PES leader and Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said that the strongest parliamentary party in Montenegro has thus become part of the most influential political family in Europe.
He assessed that this is also an important moment for the European future of Montenegro.
Milatovic believes that, as of today, Montenegro’s voice in Europe is stronger and more respected, and the circle of its partners is much larger and more influential than ever before.
