Pensioners humiliated by €6 pension increase over two and a half years

Pensioners humiliated by €6 pension increase over two and a half years

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – according to Member of Parliament Nikola Milovic of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), a pension increase of just a few euros is an insult to people who spent decades working and helping build this country, while the prices of food, medicines, electricity, and utilities continue to rise.

“The minimum pension of €450, which has been frozen for the past two years, was first increased by only €1.71 at the beginning of the year. Following a new adjustment of 0.95 percent, it will rise by another approximately €4.3, bringing it to around €456,” Milovic posted on his X account.

According to him, this is the clearest indication of how well the government understands the everyday lives of pensioners.

“You cannot speak about caring for pensioners while their dignity is reduced to a statistical calculation error. This is not social justice, but a policy of cosmetic increases designed for press releases and political marketing rather than for genuinely improving citizens’ lives,” Milovic said.

He added that pensioners are not asking for charity, but for respect, security, and a pension they can actually live on.
