Parties extend congratulations on Independence Day

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – Representatives of several political parties in Montenegro extended their congratulations on the occasion of the Independence Day.

Leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Danijel Zivkovic said that on this day, 19 years ago, state independence was restored and that new chapter in the history of Montenegro was written.

He assessed that for five years now Montenegro has been facing challenges that threaten its sovereignty and the painstakingly built international reputation, and added that for this reason it is of crucial importance that everyone contribute to building a stable, prosperous and European Montenegro.

President of the Bosniak Party, Ervin Ibrahimovic, said that the correctness of the decision made by the majority of Montenegro on May 21, 2006 to pursue the path of development and prosperity based on the principles of democracy, anti-fascism, multi-religious and multinational harmony, respect and nurturing of diversity and acceptance of key civilizational values, ​​is more visible now than ever.

URA leader Dritan Abazovic emphasized that today, when Montenegro is facing ever deeper divisions and a lack of clear vision of development, it must remain committed to the goals that unite its citizens.

Leaders of the European Alliance Damir Sehovic, Ivan Vujovic and Vatroslav Belan congratulated all citizens on Independence Day, stating that May 21 is not only a day when independence was restored, but also a reminder of what it means to be a free nation and how important it is to affirm that freedom every day.

The Demos congratulated the citizens on Independence Day, expressing hope that they will remain united around the idea of ​​Montenegro as a state of rule of law, justice and equal opportunities for all its citizens.
