Parliamentary majority: Opposition to submit unified platform by Friday

Podgorica, (MINA) – The parliamentary majority announced that it expects the opposition parties, participating in the talks mediated by the EU Delegation, which have expressed their willingness to contribute to Montenegro’s European integration process, to submit a proposal for a unified platform by Friday.

The parliamentary majority, in a press release submitted by the Europe Now Movement, stated that they base this expectation on the need to ensure the broadest possible social and political consensus ahead of the vote on constitutional amendments, while the opposition’s proposal has not yet been submitted.

“We expect all opposition parties participating in the talks, mediated by the EU Delegation, which have expressed their willingness to contribute to the acceleration of Montenegro’s European integration, to translate their agreement into a single and formalized platform”, the press release says.

It is emphasized that this would demonstrate political seriousness, eliminate any doubts and prevent the wrong political narrative that this is a matter of behind-the-scenes deals, and not the issue of the highest public interest, which everyone had agreed on at the meeting at the EU Delegation in Podgorica.

“Montenegro’s European path does not allow for improvisation, nor can it rest on vague political messages”, said the parliamentary majority.
