Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Advisor to the President of Montenegro for internal policy and economic development, Nebojsa Vuksanovic, called on members of Parliament to decide in the best interest of the state and its citizens when the issue of airport concessions comes up on the agenda.
“If we want a responsible public administration, decisions about the airports must be transparent, fair, and based on the public interest. Anything else is a continuation of old policies, just with worse excuses,” Vuksanovic said in a press release.
According to him, the Government’s decision to continue and effectively finalize the concession procedure for Airports of Montenegro, accompanied by a promotional campaign about “one billion euros for the state,” requires a serious, well-elaborated, and responsible response.
“Because there are numerous open questions behind the bombastic announcements to which the public still has no answers,” Vuksanovic said.
He stated that the first and key issue is the economic logic of treating the initial concession fee of €100 million as relevant and adequate today, even though it was defined seven years ago.
